Delhi Police’s Cyber Samvad 2.0 reaches lakhs of students in Digital Safety Drive

New Delhi, Nov 28 (UNI) Delhi Police connected with lakhs of students and teachers from more than 1,000 government and private schools across the city to educate them about cyber security, as part of a virtual session titled ‘Cyber Samvad 2.0’.
The virtual awareness session, conducted in collaboration with the Directorate of Education and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), was held at the Police Headquarters.
The session was conducted in a hybrid mode, with around 250 students and teachers from NDMC schools attending in person at the Adarsh Auditorium.
The program began with a welcome address by Sanjay Tyagi, IPS, the Public Relations Officer of Delhi Police. He urged students to be cautious on social media and encouraged parents and teachers to report incidents of cyberbullying or online harassment to the authorities without hesitation.
A key highlight of the event was a ‘Nukkad Natak’ (street play) performed by the Deep Group, which effectively communicated the importance of online safety in an engaging manner. This was followed by an informative training session conducted by Manoj Kumar, ACP of the IFSO unit, who detailed the rising cyber threats targeting children. He covered critical topics such as cyberbullying, cyber grooming, online job fraud, and the alarming concepts of ‘cyber slavery’ and ‘digital arrest.’
Kumar emphasized the importance of protecting one’s digital identity and advised practical steps like enabling two-factor authentication and remaining vigilant online. He also informed the attendees about the National Cyber Helpline number 1930 and stressed the importance of the “golden hour” for reporting cyber crimes to maximize the chances of recovering lost funds. The session concluded with an interactive segment where students’ queries were addressed.
This initiative is part of the Delhi Police’s ongoing efforts to educate vulnerable groups, including school children and senior citizens, about cyber security.
