New Delhi, Dec 12 (UNI) Delhi Police has executed Operation CyHawk 2.0, a sweeping, intelligence-led offensive aimed at crippling the financial backbone of cybercrime syndicates, an official said on Friday.
In a statement, the police said the upgraded operation conducted between December 10 and 11 mobilised more than 5,000 police personnel across Delhi and multiple states, including Odisha, Maharashtra and Kerala.
Building on the groundwork of CyHawk 1.0, the latest operation delivered over 200% more legal actions, 163% more detentions, and a 125% rise in FIR resolutions.
Police rounded up 7,015 individuals, with 1,146 arrested or bound down, and issued notices to 1,736 suspects, bringing the total number of legal actions to 2,882.
Officials also registered 392 fresh FIRs, linked 228 old cases, and matched 4,058 complaints from the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP), tracing them to fraud networks involving Rs 944 crore in illicit funds.
The operation focused on dismantling mule accounts, intermediary handlers, SIM suppliers, cash movers and other digital foot soldiers essential to cybercrime ecosystems.
Extensive seizures of mobile phones, laptops, SIM sets, ATM cards, documents, and financial ledgers have paved the way for deeper forensic and financial analysis.
Backed by real-time intelligence from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the MHA, CyHawk 2.0 used advanced data analytics, transaction mapping and hotspot identification to guide field teams with unprecedented precision.
Calling the operation a firm declaration against cybercriminal networks, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha said, “Operation CyHawk is a resolve of Delhi Police to completely uproot cyber fraud.”
