Delhi excise policy: CBI gets court notice on Kavitha’s bail plea

New Delhi, July 8 (UNI) A Special Court on Monday issued notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the default bail application of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha arrested in the Delhi excise policy case.

Special Judge Kaveri Baweja, after hearing Kavitha’s lawyers, issued notice to the CBI and adjourned the matter for further hearing on July 12.

Counsel for Kavitha sought default bail by submitting that the CBI had failed to file a complete charge-sheet within the mandatory period of 60 days.

Kavitha was first arrested by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on March 15 and later taken into custody by the CBI on April 11.

She is in judicial custody in both the corruption case filed by the CBI and the money laundering case registered by the ED.
