Delhi CM urges promotion of ‘Swadeshi,’ praises GST reforms

New Delhi, Sept 22 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today appealed to the residents of the national Capital to support Swadeshi products. She said the latest GST reforms introduced by the government have been received in a positive light, and are a gift from Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of Diwali.

Gupta, who was at a Delhi market, said that the GST reforms have not only pleased consumers but also benefited the business community.

During a visit to Totaram Bazaar in Delhi’s Tri Nagar, while meeting traders and consumers, the Chief Minister called on all Indians to make every home a symbol of Swadeshi.

On the occasion, she put up ‘Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar Ghar Swadeshi’ stickers at shops and urged people to use Swadeshi products.

She was there to be part of the GST Savings Festival and stated that these reforms will empower the poor, youth, farmers, women, traders, and MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), contributing to the vision of a self-reliant India.

The Chief Minister also said that the long-pending GST refunds for traders would be released promptly, providing them with immediate relief.

Gupta said the reforms will make it easier for common people to manage their households.

The direct benefit of GST reforms extended by the Prime Minister to the 140 crore citizens is like a big gift this Diwali and will especially benefit the middle class, she added.

“The Prime Minister has transformed the Navratri festival into a Savings Festival,” she said.

Meanwhile, Delhi minister Parvesh Verma, who visited Bengali Market today said all shopkeepers and consumers were grateful to the Prime Minister for the benefits.

He also congratulated the market association for revising prices according to the new system.
