Delhi CM launches multiple civic projects, reviews Atal Canteen Progress

New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated several development projects and conducted on-site inspections across the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency, here today.

The CM also reviewed the construction progress of the ‘Atal Canteen Scheme’. The Chief Minister emphasised that her government is working with dedication to ensure a safe, dignified, and prosperous life for every resident of Delhi.

At the JJ Cluster in Shalimar Bagh, the Chief Minister dedicated multiple essential facilities to the public. She inaugurated the upgraded CC footpaths and drainage system, which had long suffered from waterlogging and dilapidated lanes. The project has been completed at a cost of Rs 63.12 lakh.

The CM also inaugurated a 60-seater public convenience centre built at a cost of Rs 94.53 lakh. Additionally, new drinking water pipelines worth Rs 14.76 lakh were commissioned to enhance the local water supply.

The Chief Minister initiated the development of drains, lanes, and roads in Govind Mohalla, a project estimated to cost Rs51 lakh. As part of the same initiative, she inaugurated new water pipelines in Ambedkar Nagar, Govind Mohalla, nearby areas, and Saini Dharamshala in Shalimar Village.

These works, undertaken at a total cost of Rs18.42 lakh, are expected to significantly alleviate the persistent water scarcity faced by thousands of residents.

The development works are progressing rapidly not just in Shalimar Bagh but across the entire capital. Several long-stalled projects have now regained momentum and that Delhi is once again moving firmly along its path of development.

“The government aims to equip every part of the city with strong basic amenities and dependable infrastructure,” she said.

During her visit, the Chief Minister reviewed the road-widening project at the Shalimar Village junction and directed officials to ensure its timely completion. She said the project, once finished, would provide major relief from long-standing traffic congestion, making daily travel smoother, safer, and more efficient.

The Chief Minister also inspected the under-construction ‘Atal Canteen’ in Haiderpur, describing the scheme as a crucial step towards ensuring dignity and security for the poor, labourers, and ordinary citizens.

Addressing concerns about the Ayurvedic Hospital in the JJ Cluster, which has remained incomplete for five years, she assured residents that the long-neglected project is now being given a priority.

She announced that the hospital would be fully operational within the next two years, providing quality healthcare services to the local population.
