New Delhi, Oct 17 (UNI) Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva today accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of attempting to spread confusion over the issue of pollution in an attempt to influence the Supreme Court’s recent decision permitting the use of green firecrackers.
“The attempt by AAP leader Gopal Rai to mislead people regarding Delhi’s pollution through a press conference is very unfortunate,” Sachdeva said.
He alleged that misleading the public on pollution has been the AAP’s strategy for the past decade. “When AAP was in government, it misled the people of Delhi about pollution during Diwali and got a ban imposed even on green firecrackers,” he said.
Sachdeva further claimed that AAP had presented inaccurate data in court, thereby misleading the judiciary on the pollution issue. “Now that the Supreme Court has allowed the use of green firecrackers in Delhi, AAP leaders are again using pollution as an excuse to push for a ban,” he alleged.
The BJP leader added that the weather in Delhi is presently clear and pollution levels are comparatively lower than in previous years. “This year, Delhi will witness a harmony of culture and environment,” Sachdeva said.
