New Delhi, Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta was on Friday suspended by Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel for the entire remaining Monsoon session for using unparliamentary language in the House. BJP MLA Manjinder S Sirsa was suspended for the day for creating ruckus in the House, while other two MLAs staged a walk out in protest.
As soon as the second day of Assembly session commenced, BJP MLAs led by Mr Gupta demanded that ‘Dhanyawad Prastav’ on removal of Article 370 by Centre be taken up in the Assembly but Speaker did not allow a discussion on it and said it was a national issue.
‘It is a national issue and not the issue of Assembly and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has already supported Centre on removal of Article 370,’ the Speaker said. The BJP MLAs created ruckus over the Speaker’s ruling. After being suspended from the session, Mr Gupta and other BJP MLAs held a sit in protest in front of Mr Kejriwal’s chamber at Assembly and placed placards in front of the name plate of the CM.
The placards read,’Why Mr Kejriwal is afraid to wish Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on the historic decision of repeal of Article 370. The CM has hidden the files of ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang. Mr Kejriwal is faking his smile and support on Article 370.’ Talking to reporters, Mr Gupta said,’it is not a good practice to suspend the Leader of Opposition from the entire session of Assembly.’
