New Delhi, Dec 21, (UNI) Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker and local MLA Vijender Gupta on Sunday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several development projects in Rohini’s Sector-13 and Sector-8 areas. Gupta, underscored the government’s focus on timely delivery of public infrastructure.
In Sector-13, foundation stones were laid for senior citizens’ recreation centres at Navshakti Apartment, Shanti Apartment and Surya Apartment. The proposed facilities are aimed at creating dedicated community spaces to promote social interaction, recreation, wellness and a dignified lifestyle for elderly residents.
On the same day, Gupta inaugurated a newly constructed gazebo hut in the park located behind Hill Apartment and Kenra Apartment in Sector-13. The gazebo is expected to provide a comfortable space for residents, particularly senior citizens and families, to relax and interact within the park.
In Sector-8, efforts to strengthen civic infrastructure included the laying of foundation stones for the construction of two RMC roads in Pocket F-18 to improve road durability, traffic movement and commuter safety. A foundation stone was also laid for the replacement of the water pipeline in Pocket B-6, a project aimed at enhancing the efficiency and reliability of water supply in the area.
Addressing local residents and representatives of Resident Welfare Associations, Gupta said that development in Rohini goes beyond physical infrastructure and focuses on improving overall quality of life, convenience and well-being for all sections of society. He emphasised that well-maintained parks, robust road networks, reliable water supply and dedicated spaces for senior citizens are essential to a planned and humane urban environment.
Gupta said the inaugurations and foundation stone ceremonies reflect a result-oriented approach to governance, where planning is followed by visible action on the ground.

Residents present on the occasion welcomed the initiatives, stating that the projects would bring tangible improvements to daily life in the locality. Reiterating his commitment, the Speaker said citizen-centric infrastructure projects in Rohini would continue to be taken up on priority basis in the coming days.
