“Vision for safety”
Bhopal: Under the protective umbrella of the ‘Parwah’ scheme, the capital’s Lalghati Square became a hub for public welfare today as DCP Traffic Jitendra Singh Pawar inaugurated a comprehensive free eye and dental check-up camp. Organized by the renowned Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital during Road Safety Month 2025, the initiative aimed to ensure that those behind the wheel are physically fit to navigate the city’s streets.
The event commenced with a soulful tribute to Saint Hirdaram Sahib Ji, led by DCP Pawar and senior traffic officials. The camp saw a high turnout, with 219 patients—including a large number of traffic police drivers—undergoing rigorous screenings. Medical teams identified 15 cases of cataracts and 25 refractive errors. To provide immediate relief, the hospital distributed free spectacles to drivers with weak eyesight and essential medications to those with minor ailments.
Beyond vision, the camp offered dental check-ups, blood pressure monitoring, and diabetes screenings. A vital highlight was the CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training, equipping citizens with life-saving skills for roadside emergencies.
“Without clear vision, the world is dark, and the roads are dangerous,” remarked DCP Pawar, emphasizing that regular check-ups for drivers are a cornerstone of road safety. Hospital Secretary Hero Gyanchandani reaffirmed Sewa Sadan’s commitment to providing quality care to all, ensuring that “Parwah” (Caring) remains more than just a name.
