Vadodara, (UNI) Delhi Capitals Women stormed into the final of the Women’s Premier League 2026 with a commanding seven-wicket victory over Gujarat Giants Women in the Eliminator at the BCA Stadium, here on Tuesday.
Chasing a competitive target of 169, Delhi made light work of the run chase, reaching 169 for 3 in just 15.4 overs, riding on aggressive batting upfront and a composed middle-order effort.
Openers Lizelle Lee and Shafali Verma set the tone with a brisk 89-run partnership inside eight overs. Lee struck a fluent 43 off 24 balls, including eight fours and a six, while Shafali smashed 31 off 21 deliveries with seven boundaries.
After their departure in quick succession, Jemimah Rodrigues played a match-defining knock, scoring 41 off 23 balls, laced with four fours and a six.
Laura Wolvaardt anchored the chase with an unbeaten 32 off 24 balls, while Marizanne Kapp finished the contest with a boundary as Delhi cruised home with 26 balls to spare.
Earlier, Gujarat Giants posted 168 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs after being put in to bat. However, their total proved insufficient against Delhi’s dominant batting display.
Georgia Wareham was the standout bowler for Gujarat, claiming two wickets for 28 runs in 3.4 overs, while Rajeshwari Gayakwad picked up one wicket.
With this emphatic win, Delhi Capitals Women booked their place in the WPL 2026 final, keeping their title hopes firmly alive.
