Cylinders explode in marriage garden

  • Panic spread among residents of nearby colonies.

Bhopal: On Monday night, a fire broke out at an illegal marriage garden in Ward 74 of the Bhanpur area, causing panic among local residents. Fire brigades arrived promptly and, after about two hours of effort, managed to control the flames. The incident has reignited demands for action against the garden operator, Rohit Sahu, who has been accused of operating without proper permits for the past two years.

People ran outside on hearing the sound of explosion. People ran out of the houses. Residents said that their houses are adjacent to the garden. As soon as the cylinders exploded, they left the houses and ran away. They said when there is a wedding here, we are imprisoned in the houses for hours.

Residents said the garden has caused many problems including traffic congestion and noise pollution, leading to numerous complaints over time. Previous fire incidents had also occurred, but the administration had not taken decisive action. Following the recent fire, several houses nearby sustained damage due to the explosion of multiple gas cylinders, which sent shockwaves through the community.
