‘Culture Fest’ in Gandhi Bhavan celebrates child literature and art

Bhopal: A vibrant celebration of arts, literature, and culture began on Monday at Gandhi Bhavan with the inauguration of “Sanskriti Parv-8.” The two-day event, organized by Kala Samay Sanskriti, Shiksha aur Samaj Seva Samiti, started with a focus on nurturing creativity among the youth.

The festival’s opening day featured a children’s painting workshop, where around 50 young artists brought their imaginations to life under the guidance of senior painters Shobha Ghare and Swatantra Karjotkar. Their creative expressions highlighted the power of art in shaping young minds.

A key highlight was a panel discussion on “The Form of Traditional Child Literature.” Senior author Avinindra Khare underscored the profound impact of this genre, stating, “Child literature is not merely entertainment; it’s a powerful medium for building character and personality.” He emphasized how traditional folktales and songs connect children to their roots, offering a humane perspective in an age dominated by technology. The discussion stressed that these timeless stories are essential for providing a balanced and enriched upbringing.

The evening concluded with an awards ceremony, where artists and writers were honored for their contributions to various fields. A captivating “Child Music Evening” followed, featuring a mesmerizing performance by young classical vocalist Pradikshina Bhatt and a dynamic group presentation by students from Sharada Vihar Saraswati Vidya Mandir, leaving the audience spellbound.
