Crime Branch cracks down on drug traffickers

  • 6.2 kg of Ganja seized, one Arrested

In a thrilling operation, the Crime Branch of Bhopal city continues its relentless battle against illegal narcotics. Acting on the directions of Police Commissioner Hari Narayanachari Mishra and Additional Police Commissioner Pankaj Srivastava, the team successfully apprehended a drug trafficker involved in ganja smuggling.

The breakthrough came when a trusted informant alerted the team about a suspicious individual carrying a green trolley bag near Gayatri Temple, MP Nagar. The bag, the informant said, contained a large quantity of ganja. The Crime Branch swiftly mobilized, and with precise coordination, they zeroed in on the suspect, Mahatab Singh Lodhi, aka Pappu, aged 30, a resident of Piplani, Bhopal.

Upon searching the bag, authorities found four packets wrapped in brown tape, which, when tested, were confirmed to contain ganja. Weighing a total of 6.2 kilograms, the illicit goods were valued at approximately Rs. 1,20,000.

Mahatab Singh Lodhi, who has a criminal history including charges of attempted murder and armed robbery, was arrested under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act. This marks another major victory in the ongoing war against drug trafficking in the city.

Key Officers Involved: Sub-Inspector Ajay Singh, Manoj Katiyar, Constables Sumit Shah, Sanjay Tomar Singh, and others played pivotal roles in this successful operation.
