Greater Noida, Feb 27 (UNI) Indian cricketer Rinku Singh’s father, Khanchand Singh (60), passed away at a private hospital here on Friday early morning, family sources said.
He had liver cancer and passed away around 4:36 am, sources added.
Rinku was in Chennai playing as a substitute in the T20 World Cup against Zimbabwe on Thursday night. He is rushing to Aligarh, where the last rites would be performed, sources said.
Rinku’s father health deteriorated a few days ago, after which he was brought from Aligarh to a private hospital in Greater Noida. He was put on ventilator support there, but his health deteriorated.
Rinku Singh had rushed to Greater Noida on Tuesday to be on his father’s side, but left on Wednesday to play the match.
According to sources, Rinku is returning immediately after receiving the news of his father’s passing.
