- Origami and bamboo workshops inspire young minds
Bhopal: The Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH) conducted two engaging workshops as part of its Summer Nature Study Programmes.
An Origami Workshop was organized for participants of the Green Cub programme. Jalaj Kumar Verma, a subject expert from Eklavya NGO, Bhopal, demonstrated how to craft nature-themed animals using origami. Under his guidance, 19 students learned to fold paper into shapes of the Sarus crane, butterflies, and other creatures. Maniklal Gupta, Scientist–C and programme coordinator, explained the ecological importance of these animals.
Simultaneously, a Bamboo Art Workshop was held for Green Teen participants. Renowned state awardee bamboo artist Dharmendra Rohar introduced students to traditional techniques for crafting artistic animal figures from bamboo. Participants successfully created different types of birds under his supervision.
These workshops not only encouraged creativity among children but also deepened their understanding of wildlife and environmental conservation through hands-on learning.
