New Delhi, Aug 12 (UNI) With the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral roll conducted across Bihar for preparing an error-free and up-to-date voter list, copies of the draft electoral roll published on August 1 have been provided to the representatives of all major political parties so that it can be checked by them.
The poll panel has said in case the name of any eligible voter is not available in the draft voter list, the parties may file claims and objections, if any, to the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) concerned, for which the last date has been set as September 1.
It is said that while supplying the copy of the draft voter list, the representatives and the Booth Level Agents (BLAs) of major parties appreciated the efforts, and ensured to assist the election machinery, and the Block Level Officer (BLO) in preparation of an error free electoral roll.
According to rules, the claims and objections are to be disposed of by the concerned ERO/ AERO after the expiry of seven days following the verification of eligibility documents.
As per the SIR orders, no name can be deleted from the draft list published on August 1, without an order passed by the ERO/ AERO after conducting an enquiry and after giving a fair and reasonable opportunity.
