Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee witnessed a grand show of strength in Morena on Saturday, as party president Jitu Patwari received an enthusiastic welcome from workers and supporters at multiple locations. The occasion was marked by the Kisan Khet Nyay Yatra and a massive Kisan-Mazdoor Mahapanchayat Jan Satyagrah, which drew thousands of farmers, labourers and Congress members.
Prominent leaders in attendance included Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Singh, national farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, MP and Vice President of the All India Kisan Mahasabha Amra Ram, National Joint Secretary Badal Saroj, MLAs Phool Singh, Pankaj Upadhya, Dinesh Gurjar, Suresh Raje, Satish Sikarwar, Sahib Singh Gurjar and Mukesh Malhotra, along with former ministers Lakhan Singh Yadav and Mahesh Mishra. Leaders from farmers’ organisations such as Anil Yadav and senior Congress representatives Rahul Sharma and Baijnath Kushwaha also joined.
In his address, Mr Patwari criticised Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, saying:
“Your words reflect your personality. The language of slippers, theft and intoxication is unworthy of a chief minister. People expect dignity from their leader. You promised ₹3,000 monthly to women under the Ladli Behna Yojana, but are giving only ₹1,200. This ₹1,800 shortfall is not just betrayal but also an insult to the women of Madhya Pradesh.”
He urged the Chief Minister to honour commitments, abandon “electoral gimmicks,” and maintain dignity in speech.
The Mahapanchayat concluded with a united call for justice for farmers and labourers, with Congress pledging to continue fighting for their rights.
