Bhopal: The Congress party has launched a sharp attack on the BJP government following the death of seven children in Chhindwara, allegedly caused by contaminated cough syrup. Congress spokesperson Praveen Dholpure described the incident as “not an accident, but murder.”
He alleged that brake oil was mixed into the syrup, leading to kidney failure in the children. Dholpure demanded to know which company manufactured the poisonous medicine and questioned the government’s silence on the matter.
Raising concerns over accountability, he asked under whose protection such a deadly product was being sold, stressing that the public deserves clear answers. The Congress leader warned that those responsible must not be spared and pressed for strict action against the culprits.
The tragic deaths have sparked fresh controversy over drug safety standards in the state, with the opposition holding the ruling government directly accountable.
