- Network of girls and drug supply exposed
Bhopal, A significant development has rocked the high-profile drug case in Bhopal. Police have arrested Anshul Singh alias Bhuri, son of former Congress councilor Raj Singh, on charges of drug trafficking and allegedly supplying young women in the New Bhopal area. The Crime Branch reportedly uncovered incriminating chats and digital transaction records between Anshul and previously arrested suspect Yaseen.
= Drugs for Girls: Incriminating Digital Evidence
According to police sources, chats between Anshul Singh and Yaseen revealed discussions about the supply of drugs, weapons, and young women. These communications explicitly indicate that money was exchanged for girls. Anshul Singh already has a history of over 40 criminal cases. He has been presented in court, and police are seeking his remand for further questioning.
= Expanding Network: Weapons, Videos, and Blackmail
This investigation began 10 days ago with the arrest of Yaseen Machhli, who was caught with one gram of drugs and a pistol. His interrogation led to the apprehension of his uncle, Shahwar, from whom two more grams of drugs were recovered. Crucially, police seized several objectionable videos and chats from Yaseen’s mobile phone and MacBook. These digital trails are not only exposing a widespread drug trafficking operation but also hinting at connections to blackmail and prostitution rings.
= Inter-State Reach and Political Fallout
So far, police have arrested eight individuals linked to this illicit network. Investigations indicate that the drug supply chain extends from Bhopal to major cities like Mumbai, Punjab, and Rajasthan. The case has also ignited a political firestorm due to the alleged political connections of the accused. While Anshul is the son of a former Congress councilor, Yaseen’s father, Shafiq Machhli, is reportedly associated with the BJP Minority Front, raising questions about political patronage in the burgeoning drug trade.
