Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress spokesperson Dr Vikrant Choudhary announced that the party will collect ₹100 each from 25,000 households in every assembly constituency to promote people-powered politics. A 60-day programme will soon be launched, along with the formation of ward and panchayat committees.
Dr Choudhary said the Congress Party, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of Swaraj and self-reliant politics, believes that true democracy should run on public participation rather than capitalist funding. “Gandhiji taught us that wealth belongs to society and must be used for public welfare, not for political compromises,” he stated.
He emphasised that this campaign is not merely about financial contribution but represents a moral movement to restore democratic values. “We reject donations from capitalists and mafias. Our politics will thrive on people’s trust and support,” he added.
Dr Choudhary said that by treating politics as service and wealth as a social trust, the Congress aims to build a new political culture rooted in Gandhian principles of truth, service, and self-reliance. The initiative, he said, reflects the party’s commitment to make governance accountable and people-centric.
