Hyderabad, Aug 30 (UNI) union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy lashed out at the Congress government in Telangana, alleging that it has failed to fulfill the promises made before the elections and has lost the trust of the people.
Speaking at the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency by-elections preparatory meeting held at Mahmood Gardens in Yusufguda on Saturday evening, Kishan Reddy said that people who had once rejected the BRS government by voting for change are now frustrated with the Congress as it continues the same policies under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
He alleged that Congress came to power on false promises but has not implemented the six guarantees and other assurances even after two years.
“The Congress party, like BRS earlier, is running a family rule and has pushed the state into debt. People are ready to question them in the Jubilee Hills by-election and upcoming local body polls,” he said.
The union Minister criticised Congress for “cheating” various sections of society, including women, youth, Dalits and BCs, by failing to deliver on schemes such as Rs 2,500 monthly support to women, gold coins and scooters for students, Rs 12 lakh assistance for Dalit families, and Rs 5 lakh crore allocation for BC development.
He also pointed out that promises of filling two lakh jobs, providing unemployment benefits, enhancing pensions to Rs 4,000, and waiving loans of savings societies remain unfulfilled. Employees too, he said, have been deceived with delays in DA and PRC implementation.
“Every unfulfilled promise must be questioned in the public arena. The people of Telangana are looking towards the BJP as an alternative to both TRS and Congress,” Kishan Reddy asserted.
