Congress delegation demands enhanced security for Jeetu Patwari

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly condemned repeated attacks on State Congress President Jeetu Patwari, the latest of which occurred on 31 August during the “Vote Chor – Gaddi Chhod” rally in Ratlam. Congress alleged that BJP-backed miscreants carried out stone-pelting with the clear intention of causing grievous harm.

On Monday, a delegation of senior Congress leaders, led by Mukesh Nayak, Chairman of the Media Department and former minister, met the Director General of Police and submitted a memorandum demanding immediate strengthening of Patwari’s security arrangements.

The Congress leaders asserted that these “BJP-sponsored” attacks exposed the ruling party’s fear of democratic opposition and its attempt to silence voices of dissent through violence. They warned that any negligence in providing high-level protection to Patwari would make the state government and administration directly responsible for consequences.

The memorandum stated that the attacks on Patwari were part of a larger political conspiracy, and failure to ensure the security of opposition leaders went against the spirit of democracy. The Congress declared that it would not tolerate such actions under any circumstances.

Among those present were former ministers P.C. Sharma and J.P. Dhanopia, Bhopal City President Praveen Saxena, Rural District President Anokhi Man Singh Patel, Youth Congress Acting President Abhishek Sharma, and several senior party leaders and spokespersons.
