Congress cancels all programmes for seven days after Manmohan Singh’s death

New Delhi, (UNI) As a mark of respect to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away on Thursday, the Congress has cancelled all its official programmes including the Foundation Day celebrations, for the next seven days.

Congress general secretary KC Venugopal on his social media handle X said, “As a mark of respect for the departed former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh ji, all official programmes of the Indian National Congress, including the Foundation Day celebrations stand canceled for the next seven days”.

He said, “This includes all the agitational and outreach programs. Party programmes will resume on 3rd January, 2025. The party flag will be flown at half mast during this period of mourning”.

Dr Manmohan Singh died at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here following old age complications. He was 92.
