Bhopal: On the third day of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly session, Congress legislators, led by Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, staged a strong protest in the Assembly premises against what they described as the anti-people policies of the BJP government.
To register their dissent in a striking manner, the Congress MLAs enacted a symbolic demonstration based on the popular saying “a razor in a monkey’s hand”. Through this act, they sought to convey that the BJP government, having gained control of power, was causing continuous harm to the interests of the people of the State.
Mr Singhar launched a sharp attack on the government, alleging that the BJP, like “a monkey with a razor”, was recklessly damaging key sectors such as youth employment, public health, law and order, and farmers’ rights. He said unemployment had reached alarming levels, healthcare facilities were deteriorating, law and order was in disarray, and farmers were being deprived of justice and their rightful dues.
Accusing the government of ignoring fundamental public issues, Mr Singhar said the BJP was more focused on political theatrics than governance. He asserted that the Congress Legislature Party would continue to hold the government accountable at every forum, both inside and outside the Assembly.
The Congress reiterated its commitment to defending the rights, interests, and dignity of the people of Madhya Pradesh, vowing to intensify its struggle from the streets to the legislative platform.
