New Delhi: Senior Congress leaders from Madhya Pradesh held a crucial meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday with party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi to deliberate on future political strategy, organisational strengthening and key public issues.
The high-level interaction focused on assessing the current political situation in Madhya Pradesh and evolving a coordinated roadmap to reinforce the party at the grassroots level. Discussions centred on energising the cadre, improving organisational efficiency and sharpening the Congress’s outreach on issues affecting farmers, youth, women and marginalised sections.
Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K C Venugopal and Madhya Pradesh Congress in-charge Harish Chaudhary played a key role in the deliberations, offering inputs on organisational restructuring and district-level coordination. Former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh shared his perspectives on political mobilisation and sustaining public engagement, while Pradesh Congress Committee president Jeetu Patwari outlined ongoing organisational initiatives in the state.
Leader of the Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Umang Singhar highlighted legislative priorities and the party’s approach to holding the state government accountable. Congress Working Committee member Kamleshwar Patel was also present at the meeting.
Party sources said the leadership emphasised unity, disciplined organisation and sustained engagement with the public as core pillars of the Congress’s strategy in Madhya Pradesh, signalling an intensified political push in the coming months.
