Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress spokesperson Mithun Ahirwar on Wednesday accused the BJP government of shielding those who insulted Dr B.R. Ambedkar by calling him a British agent. Ahirwar termed it a grave injustice to the Dalit community and an insult to the architect of the Indian Constitution.
He alleged that the BJP government is deliberately trying to undermine Babasaheb Ambedkar’s historic contribution to the nation’s Constitution, calling it a “conspiratorial mindset.”
Ahirwar demanded that a case be registered under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against the individual responsible for the remarks. He said that if the BJP truly believes in equality and justice for Dalits and the poor, it should take bulldozer action against the offender’s property.
Warning the state government, Ahirwar said that failure to act would prove that “bulldozer justice” is selectively used against the poor, Dalits, and opposition members. He added that if no action is taken, Congress workers will take to the streets in protest.
