Cong claims 108 voters found registered at single 800 sq ft house in Narela

Bhopal: A startling case of alleged electoral irregularities has surfaced in the Narela Assembly constituency during the ongoing voter revision exercise. According to Congress leader Manoj Shukla, as many as 108 voters were found registered at a single 800-square-foot house in Ratan Colony.

When the Booth Level Officer (BLO), Danisha Kushwaha, visited the address as part of the verification process, she reportedly found only Smt Phoolbai Sahu and her family of three residing there. On examining documents and questioning the residents, it emerged that 108 separate voter names had been registered at the same location. Shukla, who was present during the inspection, questioned the BLO over the discrepancy, upon which she acknowledged that the entries were indeed incorrect.

Shukla has demanded a high-level inquiry from District Election Officer Kaushlendra Vikram Singh, calling the discovery a serious threat to the integrity of the electoral rolls.

In a separate incident, Shukla also raised objections over the alleged distribution of only one survey form—rather than two—to voters in minority localities. He claimed that Booth Level Officer Anju Mandrai was distributing these forms while seated near a BJP office, which he argued created an atmosphere of mistrust.

Shukla alleged that minority voters were being deliberately misled and that incomplete information was being provided to them, creating confusion during the revision process. He warned that such practices could result in the deliberate deletion of genuine voters from the rolls.

The Congress has urged the Election Commission of India to send a team to Narela to conduct a thorough investigation.

Several party leaders, including Abhinav Baroliya, Vikram Choudhary, Sheriyar Khan, Mohd Riyaz, Danish Shabbir Khan, Yuvraj Singh Rai, Deepak Diwan, and others, were present during the inspection.
