Bhopal: A college student died of suicide by hanging herself in the Kolar area on Thursday night. Police recovered a suicide note from the scene, in which she wrote, “I’m sorry, Mom and Dad, I couldn’t do anything special. I love you.” Police are now investigating the suicide case based on the CDR of her mobile phone and statements of family members.
Kolar Police Station SI Pappu Katiyar stated that 21-year-old Aastha Singh was originally from Betul. She lived with her mother in Siddhi Samriddhi Apartments on Kolar Road and was preparing for the NEET exam. Her father, Arvind Singh, is a bank manager in Betul. On Thursday, her mother was doing household chores while Aastha was in her room. A short time later, when she went to call her, she found the door locked from inside.
Mother informed the police.
When her daughter didn’t answer despite her calls, she called a relative living nearby. The door couldn’t open due to the central lock. Fearing something untoward, the police were informed. When the police managed to open the door, they found Aastha hanging from a noose inside. The police have prepared a panchnama and initiated further investigation.
