Collector holds meeting for massive tree plantation on 6 July

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has launched the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. This campaign will be run in different districts of the state from 1st July to 15th July. Bhopal district has set a target of planting 20 lakh saplings. Under this campaign, a target of planting more than 12 lakh saplings in one day on 6th July has been set.

As per the intention of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and to save the environment and with the participation of people in this campaign, this huge target will be achieved. Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh held a meeting regarding the campaign on Monday and reviewed the preparations as per the target given with the officials of all the concerned departments. Forest Division Officer Bhopal told that more than 9 lakh trees will be planted by the Forest Department Bhopal on 6th July. For which the Forest Department has been preparing for the last three months. The Forest Department has dug more than 9 lakh pits and done fencing along with other preparations. Plants are being transported to all the identified places. ‘

BMC will plant saplings at over 300 places

Bhopal Municipal Corporation will plant more than 1.2 lakh saplings at more than 300 places. For which, information was taken about the digging of pits for plants at selected places, arrangement of tree guards, arrangement of transporting of plants and preparations for tree plantation to be done by MPs, MLAs and other public representatives at different places on 6th July.

55 thousand saplings each will be planted by District Panchayat Bhopal in Phanda and Berasia blocks of Bhopal rural area. Along with this, preparations to be done by other departments were also reviewed. Collector Singh appealed to all Bhopal residents to join this campaign. He said that you should take a selfie with your family, mother. If mother is not there, then you can take a selfie by planting a tree with her picture. Pictures can also be uploaded on the website prescribed under the campaign. This will inspire other people.

District Panchayat CEO Rituraj Singh, DFO Alok Pathak, ADM Harshal Pancholi, Himanshu Chandra and other officials were present in the meeting.
