- Calls for joint larva survey and fogging drive
Bhopal: Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Manish Sharma conducted a comprehensive review of the vector-borne disease control program. During the meeting, he examined the larva survey and slide collection activities carried out in all 21 zones of the city.
Highlighting the surge in dengue cases typically observed between July and October, Dr. Sharma emphasized the need for a joint larva survey campaign in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation. He directed health officials to intensify preventive measures and ensure early detection.
Dr. Sharma also raised concerns about the seasonal rise in cases of vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. He instructed officials to ensure that all health institutions are well-stocked with necessary medicines to handle the potential increase in patient load.
To control the spread of dengue, Dr. Sharma ordered immediate fogging operations in the identified high-risk wards through the Municipal Corporation. He also issued guidelines to strengthen dengue screening and testing facilities across the district.
The review meeting was attended by District Malaria Officer Smt. Smriti Namdev, District Epidemiologist Dr. Kamini Mehra, Vector-Borne Disease Advisor Ruchi Silakari, and Malaria Inspector Urmila Singh.
