- 3-day ‘Abhyuday-2025’ event inaugurated at Makhanlal Chaturvedi University
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday hailed the late Pandit Makhanlal Chaturvedi for his pivotal role in re-establishing the prestige of the Hindi language. Speaking at the inauguration of the three-day ‘Abhyuday-2025’ event at Makhanlal Chaturvedi University, Dr. Yadav said it was a matter of immense pride that such a great personality was born in the state.
A legacy of journalism and culture
The Chief Minister unveiled a statue of Pandit Makhanlal Chaturvedi at the university, which bears his name and is a renowned institution of journalism across the country. Addressing the gathering, he said, “Pandit Makhanlal Chaturvedi led a significant movement to re-establish the Hindi language. We are proud that such a great man and poet was born on the soil of Madhya Pradesh.”
Dr. Yadav also highlighted the state government’s initiative to use the term “Kulaguru” instead of Vice-Chancellor in state universities, symbolizing the supreme position of a Guru in the Indian educational tradition.
Journalism’s true purpose
Quoting Devrishi Narada as the original pioneer of journalism, Dr. Yadav explained that “Abhyuday” in journalism means more than just a new beginning; it represents a journey of continuous awareness, the pursuit of truth, and the responsibility to guide society. He drew parallels between Chaturvedi’s life and the spirit of festivals like Dussehra, noting that Chaturvedi, as a journalist, also took the path of activism for the good of the nation and society. The event was also graced by notable poet Dr. Kumar Vishwas.
