CM Yadav celebrates Janmashtami at Historic Amka-Jhamka temple

DHAR: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav joined the Janmashtami festivities at the ancient Amka-Jhamka Temple in Dhar district’s Sardarpur tehsil. The temple, which is believed to have a connection to the Dwapara Yuga and the legend of Lord Krishna’s abduction of Rukmini, was the site of a vibrant celebration.

The Chief Minister began his visit by paying respects at the historic site before performing a special puja at the Ambika Mata Temple, where he prayed for the prosperity and happiness of Madhya Pradesh. He also visited the Chamunda Mata Temple to offer his prayers.

CM participates in Matki Phoad tradition

During the event, the Chief Minister was honored by the public with a ceremonial mace, a traditional gift. He then participated in the festive Matki Phoad event, a symbolic breaking of a clay pot, and was also seen affectionately petting a calf, much to the delight of the crowd.

The temple grounds were filled with a vibrant cultural program that included a variety of captivating performances. The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including the District-in-Charge Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Savitri Thakur, and other senior officials and public representatives. The celebrations were marked by a spirit of devotion and community as thousands gathered to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna.
