Chief Minister Kamal Nath today unveiled the life-size statue of the country’s first woman Prime Minister Late Smt. Indira Gandhi at Chhindwara. This statue has been installed at Indira Tiraha on the occasion of Late Smt. Gandhi’s birthday on November 19.
Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that the statues of great personalities remind us of their struggle besides their ideas, principles and values. He said that Late Smt. Gandhi was one of those figures in Indian history who glorified India throughout the world. Under her leadership, India made all-round progress.
The Chief Minister said that the schemes that she initiated to provide justice and honour to the poor raised their standard of living. Kamal Nath said that the state government is committed to continue work on Smt. Gandhi’s Sarvadharma Samabhav and the all-round development of the proletariat.
Public Health Engineering Minister Sukhdev Panse, Medical Education Minister Dr. Vijaylaxmi Sadho, Home and Jail Minister Bala Bachchan, Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Minister Lakhan Ghanghoria, MLA Sunil Uike and former Minister Deepak Saxena along with a number of citizens were present.
