New Delhi, Sep 16 (UNI) Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today led Vishwakarma Diwas celebrations at VR Metropolitan, Civil Lines, honouring Delhi’s skilled workforce for its contributions to the city’s infrastructure.
The Chief Minister was joined by Labour Minister Kapil Mishra, Labour Commissioner Shilpa Shinde, and the Directors of VR Metropolitan—Nipun Jain, Siddharth Gupta, and Tariq Chinoy. During the event, the Chief Minister presented certificates of appreciation to workers from the VR Metropolitan project site.
The celebration was held to acknowledge those who contribute to Delhi’s urban landscape on Vishwakarma Diwas, a festival that honours the divine architect and patron of artisans, Lord Vishwakarma.
In a statement, a VR Metropolitan spokesperson said that the event was a tribute to the “spirit of creativity and craftsmanship that builds our cities” and a testament to “skilled hands and visionary minds working together for the community’s progress.”
The event also highlighted Delhi’s commitment to inclusive growth, labour welfare, and the power of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs). VR Metropolitan is a flagship PPP project developed on land owned by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), a joint venture between the Government of India and the Delhi government.
