Bhopal: The IPS Service Meet–2026, organised by the Indian Police Service Association (Madhya Pradesh), was ceremonially inaugurated on Friday at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav and Director General of Police Kailash Makwana inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Yadav commended the courage, discipline and dedication of the Madhya Pradesh Police, stating that a strong law-and-order system is essential for the state’s internal security and development. He described the effective elimination of Naxalism as a historic achievement that has paved the way for peace, stability and progress. Emphasising the role of police and civil services in strengthening democracy, the Chief Minister assured early positive decisions on promotion-related issues and accelerated recruitment to enhance operational efficiency. He reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards organised crime and anti-national activities.
DGP Makwana outlined the force’s key achievements in 2025 and future priorities, including cybercrime control, Dial–112 services, e-zero FIRs, recovery of missing children, mental health initiatives, de-addiction campaigns and preparations for the Simhastha Kumbh–2028. He stressed the need for timely and transparent recruitment to meet manpower requirements.
The inaugural session concluded with an inspirational lecture by management expert Rajesh Pandit. The two-day meet, being held on January 16 and 17, aims to foster professional dialogue, coordination and camaraderie among IPS officers and their families across the state.
