Bhopal: Elevating passenger amenities to unprecedented levels, Bhopal Railway Station marked a significant milestone today with the grand inauguration of its Executive and VIP Lounges. The state-of-the-art facilities were unveiled by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, at a distinguished ceremony.
The event was graced by several esteemed dignitaries, including Minister for Sports & Youth Welfare and Cooperatives, Vishwas Sarang; Mayor of Bhopal, Mrs. Malti Rai; MLA (North), Atif Arif Akeel; and Municipal Corporation Chairman, Kishan Suryavanshi.
From the railway administration, Divisional Railway Manager Bhopal, Dewashish Tripathi; Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Smt. Rashmi Diwakar; Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Saurabh Kataria; and other senior officials were present, actively contributing to the event’s success.
= Saurabh Kataria, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, highlighted that the lounges, developed by IRCTC, span approximately 10,693 square feet. These modern spaces offer premium amenities, providing a grand and unique environment for passengers to relax, entertain, and work before or after their train journeys.
Unparalleled comfort & amenities: The Executive Lounge accommodates 200 passengers, while the VIP Lounge seats 100, both featuring air-conditioned comfort. With 48 luggage racks and three dedicated ‘Nap Zones’ equipped with recliners and bed units, passengers can enjoy optimal rest. The fully air-conditioned lounges offer comfortable sofas, newspapers, magazines, Wi-Fi, music, television, clean restrooms, shower facilities, makeup mirrors, and hand dryers.
= Access & optional premium services: Entry to the Executive Lounge is Rs 50 per person per hour, including a complimentary welcome drink. The VIP Lounge is priced at Rs 100 per person per hour, offering upgraded amenities like recliners, snacks (samosa/vada), and game activities. Additional paid services include luggage handling, print/scan facilities, wash & change, conference areas, travel accessories, and buffet options.
