Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh celebrated its 79th Independence Day with patriotic fervor and great enthusiasm. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav led the state-level ceremony at Lal Parade Ground, where he hoisted the National Flag, inspected a grand parade, and took the salute. The event was marked by a three-round celebratory firing by the armed forces and patriotic tunes from the police band. For the first time, the Chief Minister’s address was broadcast live to every district headquarters, reaching a wide audience across the state.
In his address, Dr. Yadav paid homage to the martyrs of the freedom struggle. He also spoke of India’s growing strength, citing “Operation Sindoor” as a clear example of the nation’s and its armed forces’ valor under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A vision for a developed and self-reliant nation
The Chief Minister emphasized that a self-reliant and developed India can only be achieved through a firm commitment to Swadeshi. “With dedication to Swadeshi, we will create a self-reliant and developed nation,” he stated. “Our people simply need to recognize their own strength and capability. I am proud to say that Madhya Pradesh is becoming a medium to fulfil the collective resolve of millions of Indians for an ‘Atmanirbhar’ and ‘Developed’ Bharat.”
Dr. Yadav also highlighted the state’s economic progress, noting that the per capita income increased to ?1.52 lakh in the 2024-25 fiscal year. He shared that the state’s budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year aims for development and prosperity without imposing new taxes, with a goal of doubling the budget in the next four years. He proudly announced that Madhya Pradesh is the first state to implement its own Jan Vishwas Act, in line with the Central Government’s 2023 legislation, to enhance both ease of living and ease of doing business.
