Bhopal: As Christmas approaches, the city markets are brimming with a diverse array of festive delights, including Christmas trees, Santa Claus figures, decorative ornaments, colorful lights, and delectable treats, all in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. The Christmas trees, symbolizing the birth and resurrection of Jesus, come in various types such as snow trees, pine trees, and more, with heights ranging from one to 15 feet. Adorned with stars, bells, colored lights, tinsel, and baubles, these trees are thoughtfully priced between Rs 100 and Rs 15,000.
Santa Clauses come in two varieties: fiber and soft toys. Ranging from a foot to life-size, these Santa figures are available for Rs 18,000, with the 6-foot musical version holding a trumpet.
Sellers say that larger Santas and Christmas trees over 5 feet are typically favored by restaurants, hotels, and offices, while smaller items are preferred for homes. The market also offers a variety of decorations for Christmas trees, vibrant Santa dresses, and strings of colored lights. Additionally, aroma candles are a popular attraction, priced between Rs 100 and Rs 1,500.
Adding a creative touch to the festivities, Ankita Rastogi, an artist from Art Kreation in Bhopal, has ingeniously crafted Christmas decor using 100 Pipers whiskey lids. Emphasizing the value of recycling items at home for decorative purposes, she encourages others to explore cost-effective and eco-friendly options.
