Citizen-first approach strengthened at AIIMS Bhopal

Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal hosted the National Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme from July 7 to September 4. This initiative aims to train approximately 2,500 staff members, fostering a “citizen-first” mindset and enhancing service orientation to improve patient and family experiences. To facilitate this training, 26 teams have been established, consisting of 52 trained facilitators who will conduct around 75 one-day sessions.

A distinctive aspect of this programme is the absence of traditional trainers; instead, the facilitators focus on awakening the inherent sense of service among participants and guiding it effectively. The National Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme is a transformative effort by the Government of India, designed to make public services more sensitive, accountable, and transparent to citizens.

This training allows employees to recognize that serving the public is not merely a duty but a moral obligation. AIIMS Bhopal believes that a citizen-centric service system will not only enhance patient treatment but also uphold dignity and compassionate care. Through this initiative, the institute continues to inspire its staff to create healthcare services that are more people-friendly and responsible, ultimately benefiting the community it serves.
