CISF’s operational strength set to rise by 8 percent with 11,729 new recruits

New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) In a significant capacity-building milestone, 11,729 newly-trained Constable / GD recruits are going to be part of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)’s operational fold, as they pass out from six Regional Training Centres (RTCs) across the country today.

This large-scale induction will result in a 8 percent growth in the overall operational strength of the force, marking one of the most substantial expansions in recent years.

The Passing out Parade (PoP) was held at six RTCs including Barwaha – Madhya Pradesh, Deoli – Rajasthan, Behror – Rajasthan, Thakkolam- Tamil Nadu, Bhilai – Chattisgarh and Mundali in Odisha.

This comes soon after the Ministry of Home Affairs approved the enhanced ceiling limit of 2.2 lakh personnel for the CISF, enabling the security force to meet rising national security responsibilities.

This development is expected to provide an operational boost to the force that secures more than 360 vital installations—including airports, seaports, nuclear plants, space facilities, and metro networks.

The new addition will also play a crucial role in addressing manpower needs at several new and high-importance installations recently brought under CISF security cover, such as Jewar Airport, Navi Mumbai Airport, and other critical infrastructure projects.

According to officials, the posting of new personnel has been carried out through a careful, data driven assessment of things like threat perception, volume of public movement, men–women ratio, sector-specific operational demands.

Out of the 11,729 new recruits, 1,896 are women personnel, and keeping in view operational priorities and existing vacancies, a majority of them are being posted to airports and DMRC units, where women play an essential role in security screening and passenger handling.

Officials say that the force is set to further strengthen its footprint across India’s most sensitive and high-traffic installations, reaffirming its commitment to providing secure, efficient and technology-enabled protection to the nation’s critical infrastructure.
