China describes as ‘positive development’ issuance of visas by India

New Delhi/Beijing, July 24 (UNI) China has described as a ‘’positive development’’ India’s move to resume issuing tourist visas to Chinese nationals, first time in five years, and said easing cross-border travel is widely beneficial.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said Beijing takes note of this positive development and will maintain communication and consultation with India to further facilitate travel between the two countries.

‘’We take note of this positive move. Easing cross-border travel is widely beneficial. China will maintain communication and consultation with India to further facilitate travel between the two countries,’’ the spokesman said.

The Indian Embassy in Beijing announced yesterday that it will start issuing tourist visas to Chinese nationals after a gap of five years.
