- Wildlife Week-2024: Bird watching camp also organised
Bhopal: A bird watching camp was organized in Van Vihar National Park to commemorate Wildlife Week-2024. In this program, a total of 54 participants from youth hostels and other educational institutions saw various species of birds, prominent among which are Red Munia, Grey Heron, Night Heron, Robin, Kingfisher, Green Bee Inter Tithari, Bronze Wing Jacana Little Corporate, Moorhen, Black Drongo, Silver Bill Munia. Participants got excited to see common grass yellow, blue tiger striped tiger, plain tiger lime butterfly, common crow, grey pansy common evening brown etc. as source persons. Khaliq and other officers/employees were also present. On this occasion, Director Van Vihar Meena Awadheshkumar Shivkumar was also present. The program was conducted by Assistant Director Van Vihar S.K. Sinha. The main attraction of the bird observation camp were small children, who joined the camp as participants, whose interest in birds and activities were appreciated and encouraged by the bird lovers present.
Creative workshop-cum-competition held
Under the State Level Wild Life Week-2024, cover stamps of wild animals were displayed by Member M.P. State Wildlife Board Narayan Vyas in Van Vihar National Park, which were highly appreciated by the officers and participating students present in the program.
As another competition, a creative workshop-cum-competition was organized on 3 October 2024 at 10.30 am in Van Vihar National Park with the aim of creating awareness among school students, in which a total of 65 students from different schools participated. These students were taught to make various birds, butterflies and flower shapes through colored paper by subject-expert Naveen Kumar, sculptor Regional Natural Science Museum and Sanjay Sonkesaria. On this occasion, the students were also taught to make tigers through clay-modeling by sculptor Regional Natural Science Museum Arvind Anupam.
