Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
Even though crores of rupees are spent in the name of health services in Madhya Pradesh, pictures of the poor condition of the health systems in the government hospitals of the state keep coming to the fore every day. At some places, non-availability of hearse and at some places, lack of doctors, all these things have become a common thing to be seen in almost every hospital of the state.

One such case related to serious negligence has come to light from the Community Health Center of Gandhinagar under the state capital Bhopal. In this government hospital, which is facing shortage of female doctors, a mother gave birth to a child in the hospital toilet.

Its a surprising case is of the Community Health Center of Gandhinagar, Bhopal. Where the woman had gone to the bathroom before delivery and suddenly she felt severe pain, after which due to being no female doctor there on the spot, the woman herself gave birth to the child in the bathroom of the hospital itself. According to the information, there was no female doctor at the spot at the time of delivery. Information has also come to light that due to shortage of doctors in the hospital, people of the area have to face similar irregularities in the hospital to get their treatment done. However, it was fortunate that the mother and the newborn still had life left, due to which their lives were saved. At present, the condition of both is normal.

Midwife conducts delivery in hospital

It is noteworthy that in the hospital, women are still delivered by midwives instead of any specialist female doctor. Due to shortage of doctors in the hospital, the residents of the area are not able to get adequate treatment in the hospital.

At present, this matter has revealed great negligence of the hospital management. The woman had come from Pathakhedi in Raisen district for delivery. Within 1 hour of being admitted to the hospital, she experienced severe labor pain and was delivered in the toilet. Manju told that she was roaming in the health center premises. Then she went to the toilet when she had defecation. There was labor pain here and delivery took place after some time. She gave birth to a baby girl. After this the nurse took her to the bed. Both mother and daughter are fine. Manju told that this is her second child. She has a 3 year old son.

Matter reached CMHO

The issue of delivery taking place in the toilet of the health center has also reached CMHO Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari. He asked to get the matter looked into. However, mother Manju or her family members have not made any complaint regarding the chaos. It is to inform that it was revealed that there was no staff nurse during the delivery, but the mother says that as soon as the delivery took place, two nurses reached the spot and took care of her and the baby.
