Bhopal: In a closely watched election for the presidency of the Hindu Utsav Committee, a prominent religious and social organization in Bhopal, Chandrashekhar Tiwari emerged victorious. The voting, held on Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM, saw over 5,600 lifetime members cast their ballots. The Election Day was marked by a vibrant atmosphere at polling centers, including the Gufa Mandir and Manas Bhawan, which buzzed with political activity and chants from supporters.
Five candidates were in the fray for the presidential post. In the final count, completed late last night, Tiwari secured a decisive victory with 1,679 votes, defeating his closest rival, Narayan Singh Kushwah, by a margin of 397 votes. Kushwah finished second with 1,282 votes, while Kailash Begwani, Hemant Kushwah, and Dipesh Srivastava received 1,173, 886, and 596 votes, respectively.
Tiwari, who is also a well-known Hindu leader through his work with the Sanskriti Bachao Manch, now takes the helm of the prestigious Hindu Utsav Committee. His win has been met with congratulations and well-wishes from citizens across Bhopal.
