Morena, A perilous situation is unfolding in Morena’s Sabalgarh region as the Chamba River’s water level has surged to a alarming three feet above its danger mark of 138 feet. This critical rise has left approximately 12 villages encircled by floodwaters, with the Rajghat gauge reaching a staggering 143 feet.
In a swift response, an SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) team successfully rescued 15 villagers from Radi village, relocating them to safer ground. Other villages, including Laxmanpur, are also inundated, leaving residents trapped in their homes. Local administration has promptly arranged shelter and provisions for those rescued, as the river’s level now surpasses the 2022 record and edges towards the 2019 flood levels.
