  • Young student dies while returning home after dropping off a friend

Bhopal: A 22-year-old student died in a tragic road accident early Monday morning in Kamla Nagar area. The incident took place around 3 a.m. when the victim, returning home on his motorcycle after dropping off a friend, was hit by an unidentified heavy vehicle. The young man had appeared for the CAT examination on Sunday afternoon and spent the late evening discussing it with his friend.

According to police, the deceased, Yogesh Pal, also known as Raja, lived in Bagh Sewania. He completed his B.Com last year and was determined to clear the CAT exam this time to pursue an MBA from a reputed institute. Having failed to qualify last year, he had worked hard for his second attempt.

After discussing the exam with his friend who lived in Ratibad, Yogesh rode to drop him home. While returning, he was struck near the Bhadbhada bridge by an unknown vehicle, which fled the scene. The impact was so severe that he died on the spot.

= Father is a physiotherapist

In the fatal collision, the vehicle’s wheel reportedly passed over Yogesh’s head, causing extensive injuries to his face and upper skull. Both his eyes were completely damaged. His body was handed over to the family after the postmortem on Monday morning.

Yogesh’s father is a physiotherapist at the Government Ayurvedic Hospital, and his elder brother works in a private firm. Yogesh was the youngest son in the family. Police are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify the driver involved. The investigation continues.
