Campaign to make Kaliasot plastic free

Bhopal: An important initiative has been taken for environmental protection in Bhopal. Forest Department, Tinsa Foundation and Municipal Corporation have jointly started Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan. The goal of this campaign is to make Kaliyasot free from polythene. Students of various colleges of the city are voluntarily engaged in this campaign. Municipal Corporation employees and frontline staff of Forest Department are also active in this campaign. This step has been taken to improve the air quality of the city and maintain the beauty of Bhopal.

According to Deputy Forest Divisional Officer Shri Dheeraj Singh Chauhan, Kaliasot Dam area is an area visited by the tiger. This area is rich in natural wealth. Local people call it the oxygen belt of Bhopal. This campaign will help in keeping the ecosystem of the area and the environment of the city clean.

Many employees of the forest department including Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Mr. Devendra Chauhan, BNS College Director Mr. Vipin Dhote, Deputy Forest Divisional Officer Mr. Dheeraj Singh Chauhan and Forest Range Officer Mr. Shivpal Piparde were present in the campaign.
