Teams of the district administration accompanied by a heavy police force and nearly 15 JCB machines reached the spot located on the Anantpura Kokta bypass.
They demolished the buildings, including a farm house, a factory, a warehouse, a Madarsa, marriage garden, and some other structures said to be constructed on encroached land by the two accused and their various family members. Shariq and his family properties located in Hathaikheda-Kokta were also razed.
My family served BJP for 40 years: Shariq
Before this, Shariq released a video. In which he is seen with folded hands.
Shariq is heard saying in the video that my family served BJP for 40 years. But people of the party itself are conspiring against me. I am being framed, I and my family are innocent.
On July 21, the Crime Branch arrested Shariq’s nephew Yasin red-handed with drugs and pistol. Uncle Shahwar Machli was arrested from the house located in Hathaikheda on the information of the nephew. After this, Shariq’s name came up as the mastermind, however, after the arrest of Shariq and his nephew, he has gone underground.
