- Charity drive under Joy of Giving
Bhopal: The Social Outreach Enabling Unit in collaboration with the Social Outreach Committee of the Department of Management and Computer Science, Bhopal School of Social Sciences, organized a 10-day charity drive, encouraging students and teachers to bring the spirit of Diwali to the lives of the less fortunate. The initiative, themed “Joy of Giving”, saw students and teachers spreading happiness by generously donating their used clothes to the underprivileged in nearby slums.
The committee aimed to inspire compassion in students to inculcate empathy and remind participants that Diwali is about brightening the lives of others beyond one’s own. The campaign spread the message – “This Diwali, share your happiness” – and provided the college community with an opportunity to share happiness for a social cause.
The Social Outreach Enabling Unit encouraged contributors to give from the heart, reflecting on the impact of these small acts of kindness on the lives of others. Donation boxes were placed at the Main Building, Management Building, and Open Theatre entrances, allowing convenient access for all. Both students and teachers contributed generously, leading to a large collection of clothes. The donated clothes will be distributed in nearby underprivileged areas, bringing warmth and smiles to the faces of those who may not be able to get new clothes this Diwali.
