Bhopal: The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS), in collaboration with the Electronics & ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati, concluded its five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Arts & Science of Effective Teaching: Strategies and Methods” with a focus on NAAC’s transformative 2024 reforms.
On the final day, Dr. Remya B, Associate Professor and IQAC Director at Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru, delivered an insightful session on the shift to NAAC’s new Binary Accreditation Framework. Moving away from the traditional grading system, this simplified “Accredited/Not Accredited” model aims to boost institutional participation and promote a more inclusive, transparent assessment process.
She also shed light on the Radhakrishnan Committee’s 2023 recommendations, which advocate for outcome-driven, student-centric quality benchmarks in higher education. Dr. Remya emphasized alignment with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and explained the three pillars of accreditation: Input (curriculum, faculty, infrastructure), Process (teaching, governance, engagement), and Outcome (student success, research, employability).
The programme concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony featuring addresses from FDP leaders and dignitaries, certificate distribution, and a vote of thanks. The FDP empowered educators with innovative teaching practices and a forward-looking perspective on quality assurance in higher education.
